Hunting and Marriage

After perusal this funny column from The Hunter’s Better half, I was reminded of a record I heard about a household friend. I’m not assured how he ever dated his mate without her knowing that he was a huntsman, or perhaps she just notion that once they got married he would close hunting -

As it’s border to do, Fall rolled around during their first year of espousals. He started packing his bags and all his camping furniture when his wife asked, “Umm, lawful where are you going?”

“Hunting,” he uttered very matter-of-factly, “it’s hunting period of the year, and that’s what you do during hunting period of the year.”

“Every year?” She asked.

“Yup.”

“Oh.”

“You can tend hitherward along or not, it doesn’t substance to me, but I’m going hunting.”

I astonishment how many marriages wince off this way?! And how many of related marriages be permanent for very long? This man and his mate have been married almost 40 years - and he still hunts, and she still doesn’t absence any smelly animals in the residence!
